My 28th Birthday

Having received “Happy Birthday!” greetings from my family and friends as soon as I woke up and a question from Honey, “How old are you now?” to which I answered, “OHHH MY! NOoo! I’M A WHOLE 28?????… ihhh…. no no no… Just round it off, I would 30???!!! MY GOSH!!!”

Honey quickly answered, “There’s nothing we can do, this is life.. we get old but it doesn’t necessarily means we should be sad.. We should be GRATEFUL, that’s why we say OMEDETOU in Japan”

(— Japanese say OMEDETOU to congratulate someone. .They also say it when they greet someone a Happy Birthday…)

OUCH! LOL of course I’m grateful… I was just —ummm well,— overreacting?.. I know, Honey was half joking when he said that. I expected a different hirit, like “it’s ok, you look younger than that”…

Seriously, I’m grateful to God for giving me another chance to enjoy life, His gifts with my family and friends. There are so many things to be grateful and thankful for, big things and simple things.

I’m also thankful for the technology we have nowadays. It helps ease the sadness and homesickness in me. Electric Games, TV, telephones, the INTERNET… they may have their down side, but they have also brought us great blessings (and pleasures). They bring people together who are far apart geographically.

WHat actually made my birthday even more wonderful is having remembered by my friends (online and offline), loveones, even the people I lost contact with, and unfamiliar names.

THANKS SO MUCH..

Yakiniku (焼き肉 or 焼肉), meaning “grilled meat“, is a Japanese term which, in its broadest sense, refers to grilled meat dishes.

In a yakiniku restaurant, diners order several types of prepared raw ingredients (either individually or as a set) which are brought to the table. The ingredients are cooked by the diners on a grill built into the table throughout the duration of the meal, several pieces at a time.
